Definitely, the ascend is steep and last stretch is possible only in first gear. Car is quicker. Local Taxi fare from Neral railway station is Rs100 per person. 

IS ALCOHOLIC DRINKS AVAILABLE?

Drinks are allowed, but you have to get it from outside, there are few or no shops selling liquor.

Yes, Matheran is safest of all Hillstation as locals are helpful and no wildlife predators. One can roam even in night.

One can buy Chikkis, Fudge, Jams, Chappals, Bags, Keychains, Local honey, Paans, Cane Items and Handicrafts.

HOW MANY POINTS ARE THERE IN MATHERAN?

There are around 38 points in Matheran, most of them offering same views. Best is to visit Garbett, Panorama, Louisa, Charlotte Lake and Chowk Point to get glimpse of all sides of Matheran. No need to visit all 38 points.

CAN MATHERAN BE DONE IN ONE DAY?

No, To see all points you need more days since no vehicles are allowed and everything needs to be covered in walk or horse back.

ARE THINGS COSTLY IN MATHERAN?
