Panorama Point, Matheran
Panorama point is the only point which lies on the extreme end of Matheran plateau outside the main gate. It is one of the most beautiful point and whole panoramic view of the west surrounding can be seen. One can see many flora and fauna on the way and it is the best point to see Peb fort and toy train railway.
How to reach:
From Dasturi naka parking lot one has to go towards end of parking and take a walking road till Panorama point which is around 2 km walking distance (single way). This is the only point where you dont need entry ticket of Matheran to go as Panorama point lies outside the gates of Matheran.
What to see:
You can see whole panoramic range of Matheran and its mountains such as Kalavantin, Chanderi, Westernghats including Siddhagad, Gorakhgad, Lonavala, Neral, Khopoli, Karjat, Panvel, Dhodani. Panorama point has rocky road to reach as constant development and beautification is also done. There is a small park for sitting and resting amidst trees at Panorama Point. There are lots of monkeys.
One can see Peb fort clearly with the temple on it. The pebfort bastion and trek path with people trekking on it can be clearly seen.
There are no refereshments stalls here.
