Situated at 800m above sea level and covering 7squarekm with around 38 view points. Matheran offers very rustic charm and beautiful dense forest with red laterite soils.

King Edward George Point, Matheran

King George and King Edward point are side by side. It is close to Echo Point. This point provides west view as well as some good views of Charlotte waterfall. It provides the same view as of Echo and Celia point. The point is named after the then British king.

MATHERAN SMALL INFO

Matheran is an automobile-free hill station and no vehicles are allowed after Dasturi parking. Only horses, manual carts and walking can be done inside. Not even bicycles.

MATHERAN TOYTRAIN INFO

Central Railway’s Matheran Hill Railway is a narrow-gauge heritage railway in Maharashtra. It covers a distance of 21 km through a forest in the Western Ghats from Neral to Matheran. The narrow-gauge railway line halts at three stations in between i.e. Jummapatti, Waterpipe, Aman Lodge and ends at Matheran.
