Pisarnath temple is situated near Charlotte Lake at the entrance to Lord's Point. This temple location is very beautiful amidst forests and monkeys. The temple premises is at peace and during monsoon it is densly covered in fog. Pisarnath temple is the oldest temple of Matheran. The deity inside is of Lord Shiva. Also being one of the oldest it is considered the local god or gram devta of Matheran.
One should not miss the beauty of this Pisarnath Mahadev mandir. There is also a perfect spherical rocks outside the temple which is quite heavy and perfectly round.
The lingam here is swayambhu and is covered with sindoor like hanuman is covered. Surrounding is peaceful especially during monsoon where there is fog. This temple original route (pisarnath ladder route) is from its backside which goes down the steep valley and cliffs towards Chowk area where local villagers use it to climb.
Timings: 6:00 morning to 12:00 noon and 4:00 evening to 9:00 night
