Beatrice Cliff, Matheran

Beatrice Cliff is at 187NM of Matheran light railway track. The cliff is right at the last bend towards Matheran. Almost everyone passes through this cliff before entering Matheran. It is open point and provides view of Katwan valley. The cliff is gradual and not steep and provides a good photographic point of mountains before entering Matheran.

However this is also a trek point for trekkers. From the base village of Katwan which lies at the base of Matheran, trekkers usually climb Matheran through this Beatrice cliff. The trek starts from Katwan village and most of the trek is through the river bed, hence it is mostly done off monsoon as the river bed is extremely dangerous and vicious during monsoon. There are multiple routes to do this trek to Matheran but eventually there is only one route which comes to Beatrice cliff.
