Louisa Point, Matheran

Louisa point is also one of the beautiful and cinematic point. One can view Kalavantin Prabalgad and also Charlotte Waterfall. It is one of the most visited point like Echo point. Also with a small pinnacle, this point is big and beautiful. It is a must visit point providing views of Morbe Dam too.

This place is not to be missed. It provides a full top to down view of the Charlotte lake waterfall. One can have a walk from market till here. Also a perfect place to watch sunset. Malang point is also nearby this point. The place has ample space of open plateau to sit and walk around. However no shade from sun.

There is one big conical rock structure cut away from the main mountain which lookes like a lingi (Pinnacle). The lingi looks more apparent from Echo point when looked upon Louisa point. Louisa point is around 2km from Market which takes about half an hour casually. Louisa was named after a girl who was a daughter of a British officer in Matheran.

There is a broken ladder route beneath the base of Louisa point which earlier time it was used by the locals but now no body uses it and is abandoned. Also there is a small naturally formed cave on the rock face of Louisa point. These can be seen from the Lords point near Charlotte lake.

Louisa point has two refreshment stalls. The point is big and provides good view of Hashyachi Patti and Matheran west points, Louisa point has a pinnacle which is climbed by experienced trekkers. Only the top part of Pinnacle is seen from Louisa point where as the full pinnacle can be seen from Lords point near Charlotte Lake. On the other side of this pinnacle is the Lions head as it is a protrusion from the main hill as shown in pictures. Louisa point is the best point if one wants to relax and see other west points of Matheran.
